Fitment

DV8 Offroad builds this Low Pro Skid Plate for the 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026 Ford Bronco, and it's meant to go on after an aftermarket front bumper is already in place. The stock front bumper and this skid plate don't share mounting points, so running one with the other doesn't work, and the Bronco Raptor is excluded for the same reason: its front end uses a different mount layout entirely. Every other trim and door configuration is covered, from a 2-door Big Bend to a fully loaded 4-door Wildtrak.

Design

This plate sits lower and flatter than a full-coverage steel skid, which is the point of building it in the first place. Instead of adding the ride height a heavier skid picks up, it tucks close to the frame and keeps the front end's stance near stock while still covering the crossmember and steering components underneath. Vents cut into the steel keep air moving to the engine bay, so the plate doesn't turn into a heat trap on a slow crawl or a hot trail day. DV8 finishes it in the same micro-texture black powder coat it runs on its other Bronco parts, and four mounting points tie it to the frame rather than relying on a couple of bolts to carry the load. It's also easy to unbolt again if you need quick access to the underside of the engine.

Protection

Shrubs, rocks, and washed-out trail sections all aim at the same low, exposed area under the engine. This Low Pro Skid Plate is what stands between those obstacles and the crossmember and steering components sitting right behind it, protecting that zone without adding the height a taller, heavier skid would. That matters because the whole point of a low-profile plate is protecting the clearance gained from switching to an aftermarket bumper, not eating into it.

Installation

Installation bolts straight to the factory mounting points on the frame, and no drilling is needed for the plate itself. If your Bronco's factory skid mounts came with built-in D-rings, cut those flush before the plate goes on, since it's built to bolt where the stock hardware already lives rather than add new hardware to the truck. Most owners get it installed in about an hour with basic hand tools. Bronco Forge stocks this DV8 Offroad Low Pro Skid Plate for Bronco owners who already run an aftermarket front bumper and want front undercarriage protection that doesn't work against the clearance they upgraded for. Off-roaders sometimes call this style of part a bash plate rather than a skid plate, same job under a different name, and this one is cut from steel rather than lighter aluminum, so it takes repeated hits without denting through the way a thinner material would after a season of hard trail use. If you're shopping for a Ford Bronco skid plate to run behind an aftermarket bumper without giving up any of the ground clearance that bumper bought you, this is the piece built for that exact job, backed by DV8's 1-year warranty and ready to ship from Bronco Forge.
