Will This Bumper Fit My Bronco?

The DV8 Offroad MTO Series Bronco rear bumper, RBBR-01, fits 2021–2026 Ford Bronco models, including Bronco Raptor applications from 2022. It works with the factory hitch and backup sensors and clears up to a 37-inch spare on the OEM carrier.

For Raptor, DV8 specifies removing the rear mud flaps and using the LPBR-03 license-plate bracket instead of the included bracket. Confirm any 2027 application before ordering because the current manufacturer listing ends at 2026.

Who Is This Bumper Best For?

MTO means Made to Overland. This bumper suits Bronco owners who want a plate-style rear bumper with recovery mounts, flush-mounted rear lighting, and room for a larger spare. Its side-mounted plate arrangement is an important part of that layout.

Compared with the open rear tube bumper, the MTO uses a broader steel body with removable mesh accents. Compared with choosing on appearance alone, its useful buying features are the spare clearance, hitch compatibility, recovery attachments, and ability to retain the rear parking sensors.

Steel Body with Removable Mesh Accents

The MTO uses 4mm steel body panels with 5mm mounts and supports. A two-stage micro-texture black powder-coat finish covers the steel, while aluminum mesh inserts provide contrasting accent areas.

The mesh panels bolt on and can be removed for painting. That lets you personalize the accents without refinishing the complete bumper. DV8 lists an approximate bumper weight of 79 pounds, so plan assistance for positioning it and take the added equipment into account when planning your Bronco's load.

Recovery Mounts and Rear Trail Lights

Two reinforced clevis mounts accept 3/4-inch D-ring shackles. These are designated recovery attachment locations built into the bumper layout, separate from its lighting provisions.

The bumper accepts two 3-inch flush-mount pods. Depending on the wiring arrangement, they can supplement reverse lighting or operate from a separate switch for trail use. Choose flush-mount lights that suit the cutouts and plan the harness before assembly. Lights, shackles, and wiring accessories are separate purchases.

Spare Clearance and Side Plate Mount

The side-mounted license plate leaves space for the tailgate and larger spare. DV8 specifies clearance for up to a 37-inch tire on the OEM carrier and recommends a third brake-light extension to maintain light visibility with that size.

Spare clearance does not change the carrier's weight rating. Check your actual tire position and carrier equipment along with the plate bracket. Broncos with BLIS require LPBR-03 to retain that feature, and Raptor applications need that bracket because the supplied one does not fit.

Will My Bronco's Backup Sensors Work?

The MTO accepts the factory backup sensors. For Broncos originally equipped with plastic bumpers, DV8 strongly recommends OE sensor bezels or its MPRSNSR-01 kit. Sensor-hole plugs are supplied for vehicles without parking sensors.

The guide describes trimming certain bezel tabs to fit the thicker bumper material. Identify your original sensor and bezel arrangement before starting, keep track of the sensor positions during transfer, and check operation once everything is installed.

How Does This Bumper Install?

DV8's product listing estimates about 2.5 hours and calls for two people to lift the bumper into place. The job includes assembly, sensor transfer, the license-plate bracket, and plate-light wiring. Allow additional time for rear pod lights and any required bracket changes.
