Will This Bumper Fit My Bronco?

The DV8 Offroad Competition Series Bronco rear bumper, RBBR-04, fits 2021–2026 Ford Bronco models, excluding Bronco Raptor. It works with the factory hitch and backup sensors and provides room for up to a 37-inch spare.

DV8's fitment table specifically excludes Raptor, so the broad Bronco model range should not be read as Raptor compatibility. A 2027 application also needs confirmation because the manufacturer's current listing stops at 2026.

Who Is This Bumper Best For?

This bumper suits owners who want a low-profile, desert-racing-inspired rear end with added light mounts and spare-tire clearance. The tube-and-plate construction gives it a different appearance from a full plate bumper, while paintable aluminum panels let you personalize the accents.

Choose it for those features rather than assuming it has every recovery provision found on other rear bumpers. The Spec Series and MTO Series are alternatives to compare when dedicated D-ring mounts are a priority.

Low-Profile Tube and Plate Construction

The Competition rear bumper combines steel tube with 3.5mm and 5mm steel plate. DV8 lists an approximate weight of 73 pounds. A micro-texture black powder-coat finish covers the main assembly, with aluminum accents toward each end.

The low-profile layout is intended to leave more room around trail obstacles at the rear of your Bronco. The aluminum panels can be painted to suit your build, allowing you to change the accent color while keeping the main black bumper finish.

Will a Larger Spare Clear?

DV8 specifies clearance for a spare up to 37 inches. Check that statement against your actual wheel offset, tire position, and carrier arrangement, particularly if your Bronco already has spacers or an aftermarket tire carrier.

Bumper clearance does not establish the load capacity of the factory carrier. A larger spare can also affect third brake-light visibility, so check the complete rear setup rather than treating the tire's nominal diameter as the only measurement that matters.

Rear Lighting and Plate Relocation

The bumper provides two mounts for 3-inch light pods, one toward each end. The installation guide illustrates flush-mount pods; confirm the mounting style and dimensions of your chosen lights before ordering.

A tailgate-mounted license-plate bracket is included. Its light wiring and harness routing are part of the installation, not an optional detail to leave until after the bumper is fitted. Plan the plate position, spare tire, and rear lighting together so they do not compete for the same space.

Will My Bronco's Backup Sensors Work?

The bumper has mounting holes for the original backup sensors, with plugs provided for Broncos without sensors. The factory hitch remains compatible, so replacing the bumper does not require replacing that hitch assembly.

The installation guide notes that some sensor-bezel tabs may need trimming to fit the thicker bumper material. Keep the sensors in their intended positions and orientations during transfer. Check their operation after installation rather than assuming that physical fit alone confirms correct operation.

How Does This Bumper Install?

DV8 estimates approximately four hours for installation, including minor wiring. The main bumper mounts bolt on, but the plate relocation, sensor transfer, and light connections make this more involved than simply exchanging two bare bumper shells.
