A: Peak draw under full load is 400 to 500 amps. Stock battery handles typical recovery bursts. Keep the engine running during recoveries. For heavy regular use with multiple pulls, a secondary battery is worth the investment.

Q: How do I care for the synthetic rope after a water crossing, especially salt water?
A: Rinse with fresh water after any salt water or muddy crossing. Allow the rope to dry fully before spooling tight. Storing synthetic rope wet causes mildew and accelerated fiber degradation.

Q: What is the chafe guard that comes in the box actually for?
A: It protects the rope where it contacts the fairlead edge during angled pulls. Slip it over the rope at the fairlead contact point before pulling at an angle. On a straight pull it's less critical.

Q: Can this winch overheat on a sustained long pull?
A: Yes. Allow cool-down time between pulls. Reduced pulling power when hot is your signal to pause. Pushing a hot motor is how you damage it.

12,000 lb Synthetic Rope Winch Built for the DV8 Bronco Ecosystem

The DV8 Offroad Xtract 12K Synthetic Rope Winch gives Bronco owners running a winch-ready bumper a purpose-built winch matched to the DV8 system. 12,000 lb pulling capacity, 80 feet of 3/8-inch synthetic rope included. Fits directly into the DV8 winch bumper cradle using the standard 10 x 4.5 inch mounting foot pattern used in most winch-ready bumpers.

Wired and Wireless Remotes Included
Includes a wired remote and a wireless remote with a 150-foot range. An aluminum hawse fairlead is included. Wiring to the battery is required during install. Budget approximately 1.5 hours and have basic wiring tools on hand.
