12,000 lb Steel Cable Winch for Bronco Owners Who Prefer Steel Over Synthetic
The DV8 Offroad 12,000 lb Steel Cable Winch gives Bronco owners running a winch-ready bumper a solid recovery winch matched to the DV8 system. 12,000 lb pulling capacity handles recovery situations without strain. Steel cable included. Fits the standard 10 x 4.5 inch winch bolt pattern used in DV8 bumpers and most aftermarket winch-ready bumpers.
Steel Cable With a Roller Fairlead
Includes a steel roller fairlead. Not compatible with hawse fairleads designed for synthetic rope. Includes wired and wireless remotes. 3-stage planetary gear reduction at a 256:1 ratio. Wiring to the battery is required. Budget approximately 1 hour and have basic wiring tools on hand.

Questions
Do I need to upgrade my battery or alternator to reliably run a 12,000 lb winch?
Under hard pull, a 12K winch draws 400 to 500 amps at peak. Your stock battery handles normal recovery bursts. Keep the engine running during a recovery to let the alternator contribute. For multiple long pulls in a short period, a dual battery setup is worth the investment.
What fairlead do I need for steel cable vs synthetic rope?
Roller fairlead for steel cable. A hawse fairlead causes excessive wear on steel cable and is designed for synthetic rope only. Using the wrong fairlead damages your line.
Can this winch overheat if I do several long pulls back-to-back?
Yes. Winch motors generate significant heat under sustained load. Allow a cool-down period between pulls. A hot motor has reduced output and can be damaged if pushed past its thermal limits.
What's the correct way to spool steel cable to prevent it from digging into itself under load?
Spool in under light tension with someone guiding the cable evenly across the drum with a gloved hand. Uneven layering causes the cable to dig in under load and reduces pulling efficiency.

Items must be unused, uninstalled, and in original packaging ($25 minimum purchase). Customer covers return shipping unless the item arrived damaged or incorrect. Custom/special-order, sale/clearance, and installed or worn items are not eligible for return.
