What's Actually Confirmed
Ford CEO Jim Farley has said publicly, more than once, that a hybrid Bronco is coming to the US lineup. Speaking to Spike's Car Radio in March 2026, Farley said Ford is moving toward "an all-hybrid lineup," adding that Bronco, along with everything else Ford sells, will eventually offer a hybrid option. That statement is real and on the record. What it isn't: a release date, a spec sheet, or a confirmed powertrain design.
So a Ford Bronco hybrid is coming at some point. A fully electric Bronco for the US market has not been confirmed by Ford at all.
What You're Probably Seeing Online
If you've searched Ford Bronco EV or Bronco electric car and found detailed specs, photos, and even pricing, you found a real product. It's just not one you can buy in the US. The Ford Bronco New Energy, sometimes listed as the Bronco EV, is built and sold exclusively in China by JMC, Ford's Chinese manufacturing partner. It shares Bronco styling cues but runs on a completely different platform than the Bronco sold here, and it starts around $33,000 in the Chinese market.
This is where most of the confusion comes from. An EV Ford Bronco genuinely exists, just not anywhere near a US dealership, and there's no indication Ford plans to bring that specific vehicle stateside. If a listing you found mentions Chinese specs, CLTC range figures, or JMC, that's your confirmation you're looking at the China-only version.
Is the Current Bronco Getting Replaced?
No, and there's an important distinction worth understanding here. A hybrid option added to the lineup is not the same as the gas-powered Bronco disappearing. Every automaker adding hybrid variants right now, Jeep with the Wrangler 4xe, Toyota with hybrid 4Runner trims, keeps the standard gas engine available alongside the electrified version rather than replacing it outright. There's no signal from Ford suggesting the Bronco would be any different.
If a hybrid Bronco does arrive, expect it to sit alongside the current engine lineup as an additional trim or option, not a wholesale replacement of the 2.3L, 2.7L, or Raptor's 3.0L.
What This Means If You're Building Your Bronco Now
If you own a 2021-2026 Bronco or you're shopping for one, none of this changes anything about your truck today. The gas-powered Bronco you have or are looking at isn't going anywhere, and every part we sell is built for that current platform.
