2027 Ford Bronco RTR: Price, Specs & Release Date

Ford just turned the Bronco RTR from an aftermarket upfitter package into a real factory model, and that changes more about this truck than the styling does. The 2027 Bronco RTR is built on Ford's own assembly line, backed by a full factory warranty, and priced to undercut a loaded Badlands. Here is everything confirmed so far.

What Actually Changed With the 2027 Bronco RTR

You could already buy a "Bronco RTR" before this. For years, Vaughn Gittin Jr.'s RTR Vehicles built these as an upfitter, meaning a regular Bronco left Ford's factory, then got shipped to an independent facility for the RTR treatment after the fact. That process had a real downside buyers didn't always know about going in: the truck was technically titled and sold once before you bought it, which affected financing, resale value, and how the warranty worked.

The 2027 Bronco RTR ends that entirely. It's built at Ford's Michigan Assembly Plant alongside every other Bronco on the same production line, titled new, and backed by Ford's full factory warranty. No upfitter step, no used title, no separate warranty structure to navigate. It's also how Ford can price it below a Badlands with Sasquatch while delivering the same or better hardware: cutting the upfitter's margin out of the equation entirely.

2027 Bronco RTR Specs and Engine

The RTR runs the 2.3L EcoBoost turbo-four, rated at 300 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic. That's the only engine offered on this trim. If you want the Raptor's 3.0L V6, the RTR isn't the path there, that engine stays exclusive to the Raptor and the Filson.

What the RTR adds instead is software and cooling hardware most owners never get to touch. It runs the same anti-lag turbo technology developed for the Mustang RTR, which keeps the turbo spooled even when you're off the throttle, so power comes back instantly instead of after a lag when you get back on the gas. Ford also gave it the Raptor's 1,000-watt cooling fan and reinforced the steering, both built for sustained off-road running rather than occasional trail use.

Standard Equipment vs the Sasquatch Option

The base 2027 Bronco RTR comes standard with 33-inch Goodyear rugged terrain tires on a high-clearance suspension setup, a combination Ford hasn't offered together before on a non-Sasquatch trim. Step up to the available Sasquatch Package and you get 35-inch tires along with the HOSS 3.0 suspension system and Fox internal-bypass shocks, hardware that was previously exclusive to the Badlands.

Styling comes from RTR regardless of which configuration you pick: 17-inch beadlock-capable EVO 6 wheels, a unique grille, and Hyper Lime graphics and accents against an Avalanche Gray body, the same exterior color debuting on the upcoming Mustang RTR. Inside, the Hyper Lime carries through in the seatbelts, stitching, grab handles, and instrument panel accents, along with embossed RTR logos on the seatbacks, topographical dash graphics, an RTR-specific startup screen, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, and Ford Co-Pilot 360 standard.

Where the RTR Fits Between Badlands and Raptor

Ford's own framing for this truck is "available to all, not for everyone," and the spec sheet backs that up. The RTR runs a wider track than a standard Bronco or Badlands but stays narrower than the Raptor, and it skips the Raptor's V6 entirely in favor of the lighter, cheaper 2.3L with the anti-lag software doing a lot of the performance work instead. The result is a truck built specifically for high-speed off-road running at a price point well under the Raptor, rather than a Raptor competitor trying to match it spec for spec.

If outright horsepower and the widest stance in the lineup matter most to you, the Raptor is still the answer. If you want a genuinely different desert-running experience without Raptor money, the RTR is built for exactly that gap.

2027 Bronco RTR Price

Ford has not released final pricing, but has publicly committed that the RTR will start below a Badlands equipped with the Sasquatch Package, which currently runs around $57,000 including destination. Industry estimates place the standard RTR in the low-to-mid $50,000s, with the Sasquatch-equipped configuration landing above that. Confirmed pricing arrives when order banks open.

Order Banks and Release Timeline

Order banks are expected to open in fall 2026, with the RTR going on sale in the first quarter of 2027. Ford has shifted the messaging slightly since the initial reveal, from a specific October date to a broader "fall 2026" window, so treat the exact month as still moving until Ford locks it down. Full cabin details were confirmed at the 2026 New York International Auto Show and the Bronco Stampede event in Moab, Utah.

What It Means for the Bronco Aftermarket

Because the RTR rides on the standard Bronco body rather than the Raptor's widened platform, it taps into the same deep 4-door aftermarket catalog that fits every other standard-width Bronco trim. That means rock sliders and side steps, steel bumpers, and skid plates built for the 4-door Bronco apply from day one, without waiting on RTR-specific fitment the way Raptor owners have to.

If you're planning to order one, text your target configuration to (909) 772-8050 once specs are finalized and we'll confirm exactly what fits before you build it out.

2027 Bronco RTR FAQ

Is the 2027 Bronco RTR the same as the old aftermarket RTR Bronco?

No. The old RTR Bronco was built by RTR Vehicles as an upfitter after the truck left Ford's factory, which meant a used title and a separate warranty structure. The 2027 Bronco RTR is built on Ford's own assembly line, titled new, and covered by Ford's full factory warranty.

What engine does the 2027 Bronco RTR have?

A 2.3L EcoBoost turbo-four making 300 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic. It's the only engine offered on this trim, the Raptor's 3.0L V6 is not available on the RTR.

Does the Bronco RTR come with 35-inch tires standard?

No. The base RTR runs 33-inch tires on a high-clearance suspension. 35-inch tires and the HOSS 3.0 suspension system come with the available Sasquatch Package.

How much will the 2027 Bronco RTR cost?

Ford hasn't released final pricing but has confirmed it will start below a Badlands with Sasquatch, currently around $57,000. Estimates place the standard RTR in the low-to-mid $50,000s.

When can I order a 2027 Bronco RTR?

Order banks are expected to open in fall 2026, with the truck going on sale in the first quarter of 2027. Ford has softened the exact timing since the initial announcement, so confirm the date closer to fall.
